Chlorine Gas Shutoff Systems
Halogen Valve Systems are manufacturers of chlorine gas shutoff systems. Designed to mount on the valve on toxic gas containers, the Eclipse actuator will automatically close the valves in case of an emergency such as a gas leak. The chlorine gas shutoff systems will apply 40 to 50 ft-lbs of torque and will send signals to a remote location letting operators know that the valves have closed safely. Chlorine gas shutoff systems can be installed alone or as part of a safety system and can be part of an effective Risk Management Plan (RMP). There are requirements in British Columbia under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations while other provinces are adopting this technology as part of Best Management Practices.
