Emergency Gas Shutoff Systems
Halogen Valve
Emergency Gas Shutoff Systems are designed to mount directly
to the valve stem on 150-lb or 1 tonne gas containers (chlorine,
ammonia, sulfur dioxide, etc.) and in the event of an emergency will
automatically close the valve on the container stopping the leak.
Closures will occur within seconds after receiving the close signal
from gas detector, kill button, SCADA, fire/burglar alarm, etc.
(multiple inputs can be connected).
Benefits of the Halogen Valve System include: Actuator designed to close valve on gas container automatically
(without operator intervention), isolating chlorine gas source
and stopping leak before it becomes reportable incident
Applies 40 - 50 ft-lbs torque (monitors torque) during
emergency closure as recommended by the Chlorine Institute
Electrically operated with battery back-up
Can open and close valves manually with Eclipse actuator
installed on the container valve
Easy to attach and remove from valve stem
Fault Relay or SCADA outputs available as option
Output relay to indicate valves closed
Test actuators at each container change to ensure compliance
to design specifications
Ensures scrubber is large enough to treat the maximum release
The
Terminator actuator is designed for 150 lb gas containers only.
The Eclipse
actuator is designed for both 150 lb and 1 tonne gas containers.
