ODOUR CONTROL EQUIPMENT
SCRUBBERS
The VPS™-005 Ventilated Odour Control System provides ventilation and odour control of up to 500 cfm at a lower capital and operating cost. The system has a skid mounted, low profile design which contains the reaction chamber, the blower assembly and the control panel. It provides up to 12 air changes per hour with 1" of static pressure for wet wells, tanks or rooms with an air space volume of up to 2500 cubic feet.
The VPS™-015 is specifically designed for cost effective collection, ventilation and treatment of organic odours from up to three air discharge sources. This system is ideal for situations requiring ducting of odorous air to the treatment system. It incorporates a radial fume exhaust blower with 7.5 inches of static pressure loss capability. Fabricated in stainless steel, the VPS™-015 chamber accommodates from 500 to 1500 cfm and provides .7 up to 2.1 seconds of contact time. As a completely skid mounted system, the VPS™, after installation, requires only connection to the foul air supply duct, power to the control panel, and a potable water supply. Its compact size is ideal for facilities with low ceiling height and limited floor space. The VPS™-015 system is easy to service-requiring minimal maintenance which includes a weekly check of the system and atomizing nozzles, and a monthly cleaning.

The QCID™system provides both ventilation and odour control for point source areas. QCID, which stands for "Quick-Contact-In-Duct" features a contact time of 0.3 seconds. The system has the smallest footprint of any comparably sized odour control system and is an excellent choice when space is limited. This system is designed to use NuTech's Chi-X® or DeAmine™ Odor Eliminators. The targeted odours are oxidized organic odors for applications with fairly consistent odour loading. Seasonal variation in ventilation requirements is accommodated by the use of a two-speed or variable speed fan motor. Fabricated from stainless steel, the QCID system can be supplied in sizes from 1,000 to 8,000 cfm for situations where the total static pressure requirement is 3.5" or less. Custom designed, the QCID is built to handle any needed air inlet and outlet configuration. Systems are typically floor mounted, however; mounting options are available to fit the site. Installation costs average 10 to 20% of the capital costs.
Cross Flow
DOSING
The Series 200 Drip Feed System provides a utility free method of consistent dosing a liquid chemical. Designed specifically for NuTech's XP-200ª Odour Eliminator or DeAmineª Odour Eliminator, this system can be installed in locations such as a manhole, at the headworks of a small WWTP, or in the wet well of a small pump station. Applying the XP-200ª product in a manhole can provide odour reduction for up to 1/2 mile down the collection system. Chemical application is controlled by a stainless steel needle valve and is easily adjusted to the site requirements. The usual adjustment range is 20 to 40 drips per minute. The five gallon capacity of the unit can last from two to three weeks. The system is quickly refilled through the extendible fill tube eliminating dismounting or removal of the system. While this system can be used for other products, the nature of the product, potential aggressiveness, and viscosity can impact the Series 200's performance.
The Series 400 Batch Dosing System is built under a process patent that provides for continuous chemical batch dosing of an evacuated wet well or tank so that a predetermined amount of chemical is added prior to the tank or wet well filling. The system offers the benefits of accurate control of the chemical addition and no dosing during high flow situations when odour control is not required. By treating the wet well influent, odour control in the force main is also accomplished. A properly sized diaphragm metering pump with a timer arrangement quickly adds the required amount of chemical following the wet well's evacuation. The maximum volume of flow that can be treated is based on the size of the wet well relative to its fill time. Typically, the Series 400 applications are maximum flows of 200,000 gpd. In wastewater, the prime use of this type of system is the control of hydrogen sulfide emission. Commonly fed chemicals are nitrates, iron salts, oxidants and pH modifiers. In low flow applications, 10,000 gpd or less.
Series 2000 Chemical Injection The Series 2000 is offered in two formats, a pH Chemical Addition or pH/ORP Control system. Both provide chemical feed and monitoring functions for recirculating wet scrubbing systems. The back panel mounts the control panel with the pH/ORP controller, two chemical feed pumps, and a chemical injection manifold with pH/ORP probes and chemical injection check valves. The unit can be wall mounted or retrofit directly on the scrubber and piped into the scrubber recirculation line. It provides close adherence to the programmed settings with little drift.
MISTING UNITS
The Mist Pro is a versatile multi-point chemical feed system. It is compact in size with components fully integrated on a sturdy powder coated aluminum stand. An easily removable powder coated cover offers protection from wash down operations. The Mist Pro has a distinct advantage with its automatic siphon induced chemical dilution achieved through a wide range of easy to install color- coded metering tips. The volume of the seven gallon dilution tank is maintained by a mechanical liquid level control at the selected dilution ratio. No batch mixing of odour control chemical is required. Maintenance is minimal, requiring only a weekly check of the system and atomizing nozzles, and monthly cleaning.
The 10 micron fog droplets generated by the LMC High Pressure Fogging System offers an effective option for both odour and dust control applications. The system components are mounted on a stainless steel stand with a stainless steel cabinet housing the high pressure pump. This premium design resists corrosion and fits a 55 gallon chemical drum under the stand providing a compact footprint. The chemical dilution on the LMC is controlled with a metering pump set for the proper dilution rate and injected into the inlet water line. No batch mixing of odour control chemical is required. The inlet water supply is controlled with an electronic solenoid valve. The low water pressure shut-off switch prevents damage to the high pressure pump when the inlet water supply is interrupted.
SPRAY SYSTEMS
The Belt Press-Mate™ is a low capital cost approach for controlling organic sludge odours generated by belt press dewatering operations. The system is easy to install, easy to operate, and costs less than $2.00 per operating hour. The spray manifold distributes odour control chemical on to the sludge with a semi-coarse spray as it flows to the gravity section of the belt. The manifolds are manufactured to fit the belt size with an adjustable height to properly position the spray pattern. As chemistry contacts the organic sludge, there is an immediate reduction of odour from the top of the press, the filtrate discharge area, and the dewatered sludge. After treatment, sludge can be conveyed through non-process areas without spreading odours.
The Windrow-Mate™ reduces odours generated during the turning of compost windrows. This system is designed for installation directly on the compost windrow turner. High-pressure fogging systems are often used on the perimeters to reduce odour complaints of outdoor composting sites. Reducing the concentration of the odour at the source, the turning of the compost, will greatly enhance the effectiveness of perimeter fogging systems, and could provide chemical operating cost savings. The system has two sections, a preassembled chemical supply with feed system and a nozzle manifold assembly. After mounting, assembly requires only the piping of the air and chemical feed lines to the nozzle manifolds. The nozzle manifolds support and position 4 to 8 air atomizing nozzles. Each nozzle delivers 1 to 2.5 gph of chemical solution through the compressed air pump. Air compressor is supplied by the customer. Most windrow system manufacturers can supply a compatible engine driven air compressor or a diesel driven compressor can be used. |
